WHY
CHOOSE US?
| There are plenty of reasons to choose Precision BrakeWorks for all of your automotive service and repair needs. Here are just a few:
| SPRING
& SUMMER MAINTENANCE |
| 1. Check Braking System & Fluid Level in Master Cylinder. Don't take your brakes for granted. Periodic brake inspections by trained technicians are crucial to your family's safety. We can alert you to any serious brake problems. 2. Time to Check Tire Tread for Spring & Summer Travel Season. Order All Season Tires from Tire Rack. Check tire tread for uneven or irregular wear and cuts or bruises along the sidewalls. Thin tire tread creates hazardous driving conditions. An alignment may be necessary for improved vehicle handling and improved tire wear. 3. Perform Tune-Up and Check Battery. Get better gas mileage with a properly tuned vehicle. Battery connections should be clean, tight & corrosion free. 4. Check & Service Cooling Systems, Including Radiator, Hoses & Fluids. Neglecting these systems can result in overheating, often leading to major damage to your vehicle. Radiator & heater hoses, which circulate hot, pressurized antifreeze/coolant throughout the engine, are subjected to extreme underhood temperatures. Drive belts are driven by the engine pully to power accessories such as the alternator, power steering pump, heating & cooling system, water pump, and more. When a belt fails, one or all of these are disabled. 5. Perform Lube, Oil & Filter and Replace Air Filter. For maximum engine life, change the oil and filter every 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first. Inspect the air filter at each oil change. Replace the filter when it becomes dirty or torn, or water or oil soaked. 6. Replace Timing Belt at Intervals of 60,000 Miles. Not replacing the belt as required can cause a breakdown and serious engine damage. 7. Check Exhaust System. Inspect exhaust system for leaks. Leaks can emit dangerous fumes to the inside of your vehicle and should be corrected without delay. 8. Check Lighting System including Parking, Brake, Flashers and Turn Indicators. All should be in working order, especially before embarking on a vacation road trip. 9. Check Transmission System and Fluid Levels. Check, top off or replace all fluids, including transmission, coolant, power steering, brake and windshield wiper fluid. 10. Check Steering and Suspension. Replace shocks, struts, ball joints, and tie rod ends if leaks, damage or loose mounted hardware is found. Symptoms of worn suspension include uneven tire wear and excessive bouncing after bumps. Winter potholes can really take their toll on your steering and suspension. 11. Check Air-Conditioning System. We'll
check your system for leaks and test the entire system for proper performance
to keep you cool this Summer.

COMMON
MISCONCEPTIONS |
"It's a common misconception that only car dealers can perform the maintenance services on a newer vehicle that is under warranty," said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. "Clearly, consumers can have maintenance services done by their local independent service shop without affecting your warranty, even though dealers and manufacturers often suggest the opposite." According to the council, consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss
Warranty Act and the general principles of the Federal Trade Commission,
which prohibit a manufacturer from voiding the vehicle warranty because
service was done by a nondealer. |
